I work in a Cancer Radiation Therapy in Melbourne, Florida. I have given your name out to several individuals whose response was extremely positive. The volunteers were very helpful and kind to the needs of our patients. We will continue to recommend and applauded your unselfishness in helping others with A Day Of Sunshine. Thank you and your organization. |

hi Bonnie, I too have been on a similar journey, I was busy living my life and very active, then after a few blips and many visits to the hospital over a period of 7 years i too was told I had a brain tumour. One neurosurgeon many years earlier said he would stake his career on the fact that there was nothing wrong with me. I am now told that my tumour may have taken up to 40 years to grow. I have a rare condition called acromegaly. I have excess growth hormone. I have been through the whole process of the Op, the radiotherapy, 8 years of suppressant being pumped into me but still I am too high, now I am told I have 2 years to get the levels down or maybe have another op.Radiotherapy cantake up to 10 years to 'kick' in, so I am told. Diagnosis may take up to 20 years , but I never gave up though many times I was sent home with ' stress related symptoms' I had lost a son who died when he was 14 yrs due to Hydrocephalus, also 4 other baby boys, so you see this in many cases is what they were basing their diagnosis on. When I found out I was happy as I always knew something was not quite right. But as they say , doctors differ and patients die. Thsi certainly seems to be the case here in Ireland. The health service is not in a good state. We ahave many huge waiting lists and there are many problems here. All the best for the future, nothing like a serious illness to give you a reality check huh? life is a whole new ball game when something like this happens. People say all sorts of things to you but I think unless you personally come face to face with this its hard to understand how a person feels face with this type of problem. I am still meeting people on the street who bless themselves when they see me! Because they have just found out what is wrong with me. I am well known and work voluntarily for a local charity ( 7 years now) Best of luck to you |

Your organization is wonderful. My husband and I just got pampered by A Day of Sunshine volunteers. They were so sweet and thoughtful. They are angels.
We loved the flowers and the food. My husband laughed and smiled for the first time in months. Thank you.Thank you again |

Hello again Bonnie, What a great success story. As an MRI Technician, I deal with many people. I have never come across someone with such hope. What an inspiration you are. I will pass along your website to others. Keep up the good work. |
